Abstract


100 patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the floor of the mouth who were diagnosed in Korea Cancer Center Hospital from February 1982 to July 1992, were clinically studied and analyzed on the prognosis.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1.Overall 3 and 5 years survival rates for entire group were 22.3% and 6.5% respectively.
2. 3 and 5 years Survival rates for early cancer(Stage ¥°and¥±) and advanced cancer(Stage ¥²and ¥³) were 53.6%, 53.6% 12.5% and 3.4%, respectively (p<0.01).
3. 3 and 5 years Survival rate for patients without cervical lymph node metastasis were 43.5% and 43.5%, in contrast to 12.3%, 3.3% for patients presented with nodal disease initially.
4. 3 and 5 years survival rates according to treatment methods, in patients without any treatment were 7.3%, 0%, patients who received radiation therapy were 33.3%, 0%, and in case of surgery, the survival rates were 71.4%, 71.4%, patients
undergone
combination therapy with radiation and surgery were 41.7%, 32.5%
